David Buzo joins as Chief Marketing Officer and Topaz Morrison as Chief Growth Officer
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – September 7, 2023 – Independent Advisor Alliance (IAA) today announced two leadership appointments that help underscore the firm’s focus on scaling to growth and enhancing and growing product and service offerings. These newly created positions round out the firm’s structure and support its cohesiveness and collaboration between departments, allowing CEO Robert Russo to re-focus his efforts on recruiting advisor partner firms.

David Buzo brings over 17 years of experience to the Chief Marketing Officer role. Before joining IAA, Buzo was Vice President at LPL Financial, where he developed, implemented, and led LPL’s advisor marketing services program. He has also held marketing positions with MassMutual Financial Group, The MONA Group, and MetLife. “The prospect of leading transformative efforts energizes me, and I am thrilled to join IAA as Chief Marketing Officer,” said Buzo. “I aim to amplify our market presence, cultivate meaningful connections, and contribute to the firm’s continued success and growth. Topaz Morrison joins the team as Chief Growth Officer. Before joining IAA, Topaz was Senior Director at Northwestern Mutual, where he led many initiatives for Private Client Group, a community of their most sophisticated advisors and firms. He has also held leadership roles in distribution sales strategy, corporate strategy, wealth product management, and business development at LPL Financial, Allianz Life, and Ameriprise Financial.
