Independent Advisor Alliance (IAA) began with seven original advisors in 2013 and has grown to over 215 partners in 145 firms across 23 states. The IAA team goes beyond just support, we identify and fill in gaps that our partners may not have the resources to solve for. We aim to be a transparent support system for entrepreneurial-minded advisors navigating the complex world of business ownership.

Robert Russo understands financial advisors because he’s been one.

Robert grew his book of business through primarily institutional relationships running 401(k) plans for small to midsized businesses. Always looking to partner with like-minded advisors, Robert founded an OSJ in the Charlotte, NC area to continue building relationships.

During his many years of experience as an advisor and OSJ, he realized his passion was working directly with other advisors rather than managing a book of business.

This passion led him to take the risk of selling his retirement plan business to start the RIA – Independent Advisor Alliance.
