Chief Growth Officer

The Chief Growth Officer (CGO) at Independent Advisor Alliance (IAA) is responsible for driving the firm’s expansion strategy through business development and mergers & acquisitions (M&A). This executive leader will spearhead advisor recruitment efforts and execute strategic acquisitions to enhance IAA’s market position. The CGO will work closely with senior leadership, fostering relationships with financial advisors and firms to grow assets under supervision.

This role is based in Charlotte, NC, requiring in-office attendance on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Specifics Areas Of Responsibility Include, But Are Not Limited To:
  • Business Development & Advisor Recruitment
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive advisor recruitment strategy aligned with IAA’s growth objectives.
    • Build and maintain relationshops with independent financial advisors and advisory firms considering transitioning to IAA.
    • Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring a seamless experience for prospective advisors.
    • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to enhance IAA’s brand awareness and attract top-tier advisors/firms.
    • Track and analyze key performance indicators related to advisor recruitment efforts.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
    • Identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities that align with IAA’s strategic vision.
    • Lead due diligence efforts, including financial analysis, risk assessment, and cultural fit evaluation.
    • Negotiate terms and structure deals to ensure successful integrations.
    • Partner with internal stakeholders to manage post-acquisition transition and advisor onboarding.
    • Monitor industry trends and maintain a pipeline of potential acquisition targets.
  • Strategic Leadership & Collaboration
    • Work closely with the executive leadership team to align growth initiatives with corporate objectives.
    • Build and lead a high-performing business development and M&A team.
    • Provide regular reports and insights on business development and acquisition performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field. (MBA preferred)

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, M&A, or advisor recruitment within the financial services industry.

  • Proven track record of successfully recruiting financial advisors and executing acquisitions.

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Deep understanding of the RIA industry, regulatory environment, and market trends.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
